Asala & Shanaz

Asala began her journey into the world of bellydance in 2002, seeking to expand her background as a musician and an athlete.  She has trained with talented artists such as Pele (tribal fusion and beyond), Amira Jamal (master of double veil), and members of the internationally acclaimed Bellydance Superstars, such as Kami Liddle, Bozenka and Ansuya. After moving to Washington, DC five years ago, she began studying with Nazira, a master Egyptian style bellydancer with 25+ years experience.  Asala is now an active soloist, performing mainly classical Egyptian bellydance, with an occasional tribal fusion show.

Shanaz has been acting and dancing her entire life.  She has studied ballet, jazz, hip hop, and performed with Ancient Rhythms Dance Company (fusion bellydance).  She currently teaches hip hop dance at Joy of Motion.
